Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Jeon Jin-seon) announced on the 18th that it held a groundbreaking ceremony on the 17th for the site development construction of the Yangpyeong Gongheung Elderly Welfare Housing as the first step to create a safe and comfortable living environment for the elderly.

The event was attended by about 100 people, including the Yangpyeong County Governor, members of the National Assembly, the chairman and members of the county council, provincial council members, the chairman of the Korean Senior Citizens Association Yangpyeong Branch, and other related institution and organization heads. The groundbreaking ceremony proceeded in the order of congratulatory performances, opening, introduction of guests, commemorative speeches, congratulatory speeches, and groundbreaking.
The Yangpyeong Gongheung Elderly Welfare Housing site development construction plans to build elderly welfare housing on a 14,063㎡ site at 316-4 Gongheung-ri, Yangpyeong-eup. The site development is scheduled to be completed by the second half of 2025, and the housing construction is targeted for completion by the second half of 2027.
Jeon Jin-seon, Yangpyeong County Governor, stated, “As we enter an aging society, we have continuously strived to enable the elderly to live in better environments. This groundbreaking ceremony for the elderly welfare housing site development is the fruit of those efforts,” adding, “We will continue to promote various welfare projects that can improve the quality of life for the elderly.”
