Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 18th the opening of the 'Uijeongbu AI Center' as a hub for nurturing AI talent and revitalizing the industry.
The Uijeongbu AI Center was established with the goal of fostering industries and building an innovative ecosystem using artificial intelligence, a core technology of the 4th Industrial Revolution. Through this, the city plans to provide AI education opportunities to citizens and support startups and companies, among other roles.
The main objectives of the center are ▲providing AI education programs for citizens ▲training professionals through practical AI education ▲supporting AI transformation of local companies ▲fostering and supporting AI startups, aiming to become an AI innovation hub.
The city plans to support citizens and companies in easily accessing and utilizing AI technology based on the AI Center. Building on this, it will focus on creating a local AI ecosystem and enhancing the competitiveness of the AI industry.
Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “The opening of the AI Center is an important step for Uijeongbu City to advance as a center of future industries,” adding, “We will actively support sustainable growth and innovation based on advanced technology.”
