735 Days of 'Deportation Refusal' for Central Asian Illegal Immigrants... Ministry of Justice Enforces Forced Repatriation The content of the article and the photo are unrelated.

The Ministry of Justice announced on the 18th that it recently carried out the deportation of an illegal foreign resident, Mr. A, from Central Asia. Immigration control officers personally handled the forced escort. Mr. A refused to be issued a travel certificate because he did not want to return to his home country and tore up the application form. He also refused to leave the country for about two years (735 days), demanding permission to stay in Korea. Additionally, he verbally abused and threatened other foreigners in the protection facility.

In response, the Ministry of Justice contacted the embassy of the relevant country and obtained a travel certificate for the deportee. Subsequently, they established and executed a plan for overseas escort. The Ministry of Justice stated that it operates a dedicated team for overseas escort of foreigners and plans to repatriate foreigners whose stay in Korea is deemed undesirable. Acting Minister of Justice Kim Seok-woo said, “In preparation for the era of 3 million foreign residents, we will establish a strict foreign resident order so that the public can feel secure.”
