Yongsan-gu, Recruiting Applicants for 'Our Home Fresh Box' Container Garden Program

Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) is recruiting applicants for the 'Our Home Fresh Box' container garden, which allows easy cultivation of crops in living spaces, from March 24 to April 4.

This year, approximately 1,000 sets will be distributed, and considering the diverse types of residences of the residents, a '30L set' has been added in addition to the existing '50L set' to expand the range of choices.

The container garden consists of a garden box (50L/30L), soil (50L/30L), and seedlings (lettuce and chicory). For the 50L set, convenience is enhanced by including wheels and stakes.

Applications for the container garden are open to Yongsan-gu residents or institutions and organizations located in Yongsan-gu, and can be submitted online. Applications can be made on the Yongsan-gu Office website under [Participation & Communication] - [Citizen Opinions/Participation] - [Urban Garden]. Residents who have difficulty applying online can receive assistance at the Yongsan-gu Office Regional Economy Division or the nearest community service center.

Eligibility allows individuals to apply for one set per person, and institutions and organizations can apply for up to five sets. The cost per container garden set is 8,600 KRW for the 50L set and 6,200 KRW for the 30L set, which corresponds to 20% of the total container garden cost.

Applicants will be selected through a computerized lottery, and the results will be announced on the Yongsan-gu Office website and via individual text messages at 6 PM on April 7. The self-payment amount must be deposited by 6 PM on April 9 according to the text message notification sent on the announcement day. The container gardens will then be sequentially delivered to the addresses provided starting from April 21.
