Lee Seunghwa, the governor of Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam, emphasized the importance of accelerating the implementation of the 8th popularly elected administration's pledges to ensure that promises made to the residents are kept.
On the 17th, Sancheong-gun held a "Progress Briefing on the 8th Administration's Pledge Projects" in the main conference room of the county office.
Presided over by Governor Lee, the briefing reviewed the overall progress of the pledges and policy projects. In particular, issues and countermeasures related to unfulfilled pledges were shared to seek effective solutions for increasing the implementation rate.
As of February, the 8th administration of Sancheong-gun had completed 21 out of 57 pledge projects, with 33 projects proceeding as planned and 3 classified as long-term initiatives.
Key completed projects include: ▲ Establishment of safety and convenience facilities for tourists at Hwangmaesan ▲ Construction of the Sancheong-gun Food Integrated Support Center ▲ Support for special activity expenses for grandchildren in grandparent-grandchild families ▲ Alleviation of parking shortages in town and township areas ▲ Operation of the Rural Workforce Brokerage Center, among others.
Projects currently underway, such as ▲ Creation of a county-owned forest honey plant complex ▲ Rural residential platform project ▲ Measures to revitalize the Dangae Market ▲ Improvement of the Wonji intersection, are scheduled for completion in the first half of this year. The remaining ongoing projects are planned to be completed by the first half of next year, marking the end of the 8th administration.
In addition, large-scale projects requiring significant budgets, such as ▲ Construction of a mixed-use complex at Sancheong Market ▲ Urban regeneration project (Oksan District) ▲ Relocation of the Hamyang-Sancheong Livestock Cooperative compost distribution center, will be steadily promoted by securing national and provincial funds and coordinating with related agencies from multiple angles.
Governor Lee Seunghwa stated, "We will make every effort to implement the 8th administration's pledge projects thoroughly and promptly so that they can be completed within the term," adding, "To achieve change and development in Sancheong, it is essential to keep promises with residents through communication and harmony."
