District Sells 17 Parcels of Unusable Public Land
Efforts to Overcome Financial Challenges by Utilizing Available Resources... Purchase Applications Accepted at the District Office Until April 30
Songpa-gu (District Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that it will accept purchase applications for 17 parcels of district-owned properties unsuitable for preservation and difficult to use for administrative purposes until the end of April.
Amid recent tax revenue declines and challenging financial conditions, the district is seeking practical measures to reduce the budget and strengthen finances. As part of these efforts, the district has decided to secure fiscal soundness by selling unnecessary district-owned properties.
The properties for sale total 265.3㎡ across 17 parcels scattered in Macheon-dong, Pungnap-dong, Geoyeo-dong, and other areas, listed in order of size. Most are leftover lands with low utilization value due to their size or shape, unsuitable for preservation, and have no future usage plans.
The sales procedure is as follows: upon receiving purchase applications, the district will review internally and notify applicants of the sale decision. The sale price will then be determined based on an appraisal conducted by two or more professional appraisers, with the final price set at or above the average appraisal value as required by law. Depending on the case, the process will proceed through the Shared Property Deliberation Committee, bidding, or private contract, and ownership will be transferred to the buyer.
Proceeds from the sales will be used as funds for future resident priority projects and public service provision. A district official explained, “The sale will not only help expand local finances but also reduce unnecessary shared property management costs, achieving two goals at once. All lands are either sites or miscellaneous lands without special purposes, and they will fulfill their use only when residents in need purchase them.”
To apply for purchase, visit the Property Management Team in the Finance Division on the 5th floor of Songpa-gu Office by April 30. For more details on the properties for sale and procedures, check the announcement posted on the district’s website or contact by phone.
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, stated, “This project was initiated to improve administrative efficiency and resolve financial difficulties by organizing old available resources. We will continue to provide dedicated administration without disruption so that residents can enjoy high-quality public services by wisely overcoming these challenging conditions.”
