Hwang Hyun-sik, Former CEO of LG U+, Earned 1.99 Billion KRW Last Year... 13% Increase from Previous Year

Former LG Uplus CEO Hwang Hyun-sik received a salary of 1.992 billion KRW last year.


According to the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure system (DART) on the 17th, former CEO Hwang received a salary of 1.04 billion KRW, a bonus of 585 million KRW, and other income of 3 million KRW last year. The other income consists of welfare benefits and similar items.

Former CEO Hwang's salary last year increased by 13.2% compared to 1.76 billion KRW in the previous year.


LG Uplus explained the reason for awarding the bonus to former CEO Hwang, stating, "In 2023, we achieved performance in quantitative indicators such as sales of 14.4 trillion KRW and operating profit of 998 billion KRW," and "considered his presentation of a vision for mid- to long-term growth and leading business structure changes."


LG Uplus appointed Hong Beom-sik as the new CEO last year. Hong will officially take office at the regular shareholders' meeting this month. He received a one-month salary of 117 million KRW.


Meanwhile, the average annual salary of LG Uplus employees last year was 109 million KRW. Among them, the average salary per person excluding those engaged in telecommunications product sales and telecommunications equipment maintenance was 130 million KRW.
