On the afternoon of the 17th, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the ‘Junggye Culture and Health Center’ held on the site next to Nowon Culture and Arts Center.

The ‘Junggye Culture and Health Center’ is a space created to expand the base of everyday culture so that anyone can experience and create culture in daily life, and to reinforce health facilities in the Junggye and Hagye areas.

With the groundbreaking ceremony, construction began aiming for an opening in 2026, and through this, Nowon plans to lay the foundation to further advance as a ‘Cultural City, Healthy City.’

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by about 300 people including Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, city and district council members, officials, and local residents. The event started with a pre-ceremony performance by the acapella vocal group Tune Aid, followed by ▲opening declaration ▲introduction of guests ▲video viewing of construction promotion details ▲congratulatory speeches ▲groundbreaking and commemorative photo session.

Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, said, “There has been a consistent demand for a complex space where residents can enjoy culture and take care of their health in daily life. I hope the Junggye Culture and Health Center will establish itself as an open cultural and artistic space and a hub supporting a healthy and vibrant life.”
