The Daegu Metropolitan Council (Chairman Lee Man-kyu) will hold its 315th extraordinary session for 10 days from the 18th to the 27th, commencing legislative activities with the review of 23 agenda items including the enactment and amendment of ordinances, as well as on-site visits.
During this session, the Daegu Metropolitan Council will deliberate a total of 23 agenda items: 19 ordinance enactments and amendments, 3 agreements, and 1 opinion submission.
The ordinances scheduled for review include the Ordinance on Cybersecurity for Daegu-funded and -invested Institutions (proposed by Representative Ryu Jongwoo, Buk-gu 1), the Ordinance on Support for Reserve Forces Training in Daegu (proposed by Representative Heo Siyoung, Dalseo-gu 2), the Ordinance on Defect Management of Facility Construction in Daegu (proposed by Representative Son Hankook, Dalseong-gun 3), the Ordinance on Succession, Development, and Support of Hyanggyo and Seowon Traditional Culture in Daegu (proposed by Representative Ha Byungmoon, Buk-gu 4), the Ordinance on Promotion of Night Tourism in Daegu (proposed by Representative Ha Junghwan, Dalseong-gun 1), the Partial Amendment Ordinance on Prevention of Digital Sex Crimes and Protection and Support for Victims in Daegu (proposed by Representative Jeong Ilgyun, Suseong-gu 1), the Partial Amendment Ordinance on Promotion of Childbirth and Childcare Support in Daegu (proposed by Representative Lee Jaesook, Dong-gu 4), the Ordinance on Fire Prevention and Safety Management in Forest-Adjacent Areas in Daegu (proposed by Representative Kim Wonkyu, Dalseong-gun 2), the Ordinance on Protection and Support of Non-Regular Workers' Rights in Daegu (proposed by Representative Kim Jeongok, Proportional), the Ordinance on Promotion of Traditional Markets and Shopping Districts in Daegu (proposed by Representative Park Jongpil, Proportional), the Ordinance on Promotion and Support of the Optical Industry in Daegu (proposed by Representative Kim Jaeyong, Buk-gu 3), the Ordinance on Promotion and Support of the Companion Animal Industry in Daegu (proposed by Representative Yoon Kwongeun, Dalseo-gu 5), the Partial Amendment Ordinance on Reduction of Traffic Congestion Charges in Daegu (proposed by Representative Jo Kyunggu, Suseong-gu 2), the Ordinance on Digital Disaster Preparedness and Response for the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education (proposed by Representative Park Soyoung, Dong-gu 2), and the Partial Amendment Ordinance on Support for Management of Student Body Imbalance for the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education (proposed by Representative Park Wookeun, Nam-gu 1), among others, covering a variety of fields.
Following the opening ceremony at 10 a.m. on the 18th, the first plenary session will resolve various agenda items necessary for the operation of the session. From the 19th to the 26th, each standing committee will review ordinances and other items, visit administrative sites, listen to citizens’ voices, and closely examine the progress of ongoing projects.
The Planning and Administration Committee will visit the Daegu Innovation City Complex Cultural Center and Daegu Haany University Innovation Convergence Campus; the Culture and Welfare Committee will visit the Haein Short-Term Care Center for the Disabled and Haein Sheltered Workshop for the Disabled; the Economic and Environment Committee will visit the Public Facilities Management Corporation Environmental Resources Business Office and Seongseo Business Office; the Construction and Transportation Committee will visit the Daegu Grand Park Private Park Development Site; and the Education Committee will visit Dodong Seowon.
The second plenary session is scheduled for 10 a.m. on the 27th, during which five-minute free speeches on various topics will be delivered. These include calls for the introduction of a control tower for Daegu’s environmental policy for systematic management and prevention of environmental issues (Representative Kim Jaeyong, Buk-gu 3), advocacy for mobility rights for people with disabilities in Daegu (Representative Lee Jaesook, Dong-gu 4), Daegu citizens singing the Daegu Arirang (Representative Son Hankook, Dalseong-gun 3), proposals for attracting and settling international students as a vision for Daegu’s future (Representative Lee Taeson, Dalseo-gu 4), calls for strengthening the management of the local safety index in Daegu (Representative Lee Seongo, Suseong-gu 3), making the new Daegu City Hall a landmark embodying citizens’ aspirations and the next 100 years of Daegu’s future (Representative Yoon Kwongeun, Dalseo-gu 5), and urging the correction of administrative convenience and responsible administration in Daegu (Representative Lee Youngae, Dalseo-gu 1).
On this day, after final approval of the agenda items passed by each standing committee, the 315th extraordinary session will be adjourned.
