Citizens and Companies Lead Efforts to Identify and Resolve On-Site Regulations in Daily Life
Submissions Accepted via City Website, Mail, Email, and QR Code Until April 11

Pohang City will hold the "2025 Pohang City Regulatory Improvement Idea Contest" from the 17th to April 11th to discover and improve unreasonable regulations (laws, systems, etc.) that inconvenience daily life and economic activities, together with its citizens.

The contest fields are divided into ▲Public Welfare ▲Daily Life ▲Employment and Jobs ▲Support for Small Business Owners and SMEs ▲New Industries, and proposals can be submitted for any matter that falls under "regulation" as defined by the Framework Act on Administrative Regulations.

However, matters unrelated to administrative regulation, simple civil complaints or petitions not based on law, or opinions already submitted through other proposal systems will be excluded.

Anyone interested in regulatory improvement can participate. Forms can be downloaded from the Pohang City website under Civil Complaints & Participation (Regulatory Reform - Regulatory Improvement Idea Contest) and submitted via the bulletin board, mail, or email, or by using the QR code on the poster.

Pohang City plans to review the submitted ideas and select and announce outstanding proposals in May.

The top prize winner will receive a cash award of 500,000 KRW, while two excellence awardees and five encouragement awardees will each receive Onnuri gift certificates or Pohang Love gift certificates worth 300,000 KRW and 100,000 KRW, respectively.

The city will review the proposals received through this contest, and for regulations that can be improved internally, the relevant departments will pursue ordinance amendments. For regulations under the jurisdiction of central government ministries, improvements will be pursued by submitting recommendations to the responsible ministries.

A Pohang City official said, "We will actively discover and improve unreasonable regulations that citizens and companies experience in the field to achieve regulatory innovation that citizens can truly feel," and added, "We ask for active participation and interest from citizens so that this contest can serve as a channel to resolve hidden regulations in everyday life."
