"Legal Action Against Kim Soo-hyun Also Under Consideration"
Lee Jin-ho, the operator of the YouTube channel 'Celebrity President Lee Jin-ho,' has been sued by the family of the late Kim Sae-ron.
Bu Ji-seok, the representative lawyer of the law firm Buyu representing Kim's family, announced on the afternoon of the 17th that Lee was reported to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on charges of defamation due to the spread of false information.
Lee had uploaded several videos on YouTube about Kim from the time Kim caused a drunk driving accident in 2022 until her death in February of this year.
On this day, lawyer Bu said, "Lee not only denied the fact that the two were dating but also spread false information that made the deceased appear as a strange woman, causing severe mental distress," adding, "We plan to file additional lawsuits related to other videos in the future."
He continued, "We ask for your understanding that the bereaved family had no choice but to disclose past photos with Kim Soo-hyun to prove Lee's falsehoods," and "We are also considering legal action against Kim Soo-hyun's side."
Kim Se-ui, the representative of the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute (Gaseyeon), who participated in the press conference, said, "What the bereaved family wants is a sincere public apology from Kim Soo-hyun's side and acknowledgment of the fact that the two dated for six years starting in 2015."
On the 10th, Gaseyeon cited a phone conversation with Kim's family, claiming that Kim Soo-hyun dated Kim Sae-ron for six years starting when Kim was 15 years old in 2015. They also released photos of the two together and images of text messages Kim sent to Kim Soo-hyun.
Kim Soo-hyun's side issued a statement saying that while it is true they dated Kim Sae-ron, the relationship lasted about a year after Kim became an adult, and they did not date during her minor years.
