The Osaka Expo, themed "Designing Future Society for Our Lives," will be held from April 13 to October 13 on Yumeshima, an artificial island in the western part of Osaka.
The Korea Pavilion, under the theme "Gathering Hearts," conveys Korea's sincerity about future society by integrating tradition, nature, technology, and culture. Located on a large site (totaling 3,501.82㎡), the pavilion features a large media facade at the front. The exterior construction and completion inspection were finished on December 27 last year, and interior work is currently underway with the goal of opening in April.
The Korea Pavilion consists of a total of three exhibition halls (954.99㎡) along with a spatial production that combines the delicate beauty of Hansan Mosi fabric and the modern digital technology of the media facade. The exhibition halls introduce artificial intelligence (AI), renewable energy, and future mobility, embodying Korea's future technologies and vision for a sustainable society.
In particular, this year marks the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan. The Korea Pavilion plans to showcase Korea's advanced technology, culture, and future vision to the world through various events aimed at expanding cultural, economic, and industrial exchanges between the two countries.
Kang Kyung-sung, President of KOTRA, said, "The Korea Pavilion will be a space to convey Korea's sincerity about future society and to share Korea's leading technological capabilities and vision with the world. We will strive to promote cooperation, trade, and investment between the two countries through this Expo."
