Programs to Boost Tourism City Boom Ahead of the ‘2026 Year of Visiting Yangsan’

Yangsan City in Gyeongnam is launching a variety of marketing initiatives to attract tourists and revitalize the local tourism industry, aiming to create a vibrant atmosphere and establish itself as a tourist city in preparation for the successful ‘2026 Year of Visiting Yangsan’ in 2025, as the spring travel season begins in earnest.

Yangsan City Launches Full-Scale Spring Tourism Marketing Spring Tourism Marketing Stamp Tour.

The ‘2025 Yangsan Mobile Stamp Tour,’ which has been operating since March 1, allows visitors to collect stamps by visiting tourist attractions using their smartphones and GPS, offering a new way to travel. Starting with the Wondong Maehwa Festival Tour, a special ‘Mulgeum Cherry Blossom Festival Tour’ event will be held from March 24.


In addition, from March to May, the ‘Yangsan Famous Mountains Climbing Completion Event’ will be held, enabling travelers to collect stamps in various ways while enjoying tourism. To further boost the local economy, a ‘Restaurant Payment Certification Event’ will run through November. Tourists who certify receipts of over 30,000 KRW spent at Yangsan’s restaurants or traditional markets will be entered into a draw to win prizes worth about 10,000 KRW, allowing them to enjoy both the fun of travel and tangible benefits.

From March 20 to 22, the city will participate in the Gyeongnam Tourism Expo at Changwon Convention Center, promoting both the tourism character ‘Yangsan Friends’ and the ‘2026 Year of Visiting Yangsan.’ The city will also cooperate with local tourism businesses to develop new markets for tourism souvenirs, further invigorating the tourism industry.


In particular, Yangsan will promote the Hwangsan Park Mulgeum Cherry Blossom Festival, which has become a nationwide hotspot, and operate a promotional booth offering souvenirs to visitors through a roulette event. Additionally, a special visit event by the Yangsan City PR team, which gained national attention after appearing on ‘You Quiz’ last year, is also planned.

From March 28 to 30, Yangsan City will operate the spring flower city tour product ‘Yangsan Seollaebom,’ offering tourists a special spring travel opportunity. The tour includes: ▲ experiencing making cotton soap at the village cafe ‘Mokhwa-dang 1944,’ created through urban regeneration projects; ▲ walking along the Hwangsan Park Mulgeum Cherry Blossom Road and participating in the festival; ▲ and enjoying city views from Yangsan Tower.


To participate in the city tour, visitors must make an online reservation on a first-come, first-served basis through the Yangsan City Culture, Tourism, and Sports website’s city tour reservation page from March 19 to 25.


In addition, during the first half of the year, Yangsan City plans to continue domestic and international tourism promotion activities, including: ▲ participating in the Gyeongsangnam-do city and county overseas field marketing event in Taiwan; ▲ operating a promotional booth at the National Youth Sports Festival; and ▲ holding a Nakdong River Spring Flower Festa visit event.


Mayor Na Dongyeon stated, “With the newly established Tourism Division at the center, we are preparing a variety of programs such as the Mobile Stamp Tour, Gyeongnam Tourism Expo, and City Tour to create a tourism city boom ahead of the ‘2026 Year of Visiting Yangsan.’ We hope that many tourists will visit Yangsan and have the opportunity to experience its diverse charms firsthand.”
