[Breaking] Drone-Helicopter Collision Accident at Yangju Military Base... No Casualties

At around 1:05 PM on the 17th, a collision occurred between an unmanned aerial vehicle (16.6m in height, 8.5m in length) and a helicopter (Surion) at the Army Airfield in Gwangjeok-myeon, Yangju-si, Gyeonggi Province, and firefighting efforts are underway.

According to the Northern Gyeonggi Fire and Disaster Headquarters, at around 1:05 PM, the unmanned aerial vehicle collided with a Surion helicopter that was stationary at the Aviation Battalion airfield, causing a fire.

After receiving a report that "the unmanned aerial vehicle collided with a helicopter that was landed," the fire authorities dispatched and extinguished the fire around 1:34 PM. There were no casualties, but it is known that both the unmanned aerial vehicle and the helicopter were completely burned.

The military and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
