"Expanding Ongoing Cooperation"
Gwangsan-gu in Gwangju announced on the 17th that it is strengthening mutual cooperation between regions through cross-donations in the Hometown Love Donation Program with Jeju City.
Recently, Gwangsan-gu visited Jeju City Hall, signed an agreement with the Autonomous Administration Bureau and the Clean Environment Bureau to enhance mutual cooperation, and made cross-donations totaling 10.4 million won with the voluntary participation of 104 employees from both local governments. The donations were designated for Gwangsan-gu's "Together for a 1,000-Won Meal" program and Jeju City's "I Am a Jeju Oreum Guardian" project, respectively.
Shinga-dong in Gwangsan-gu also discussed ways to promote the Hometown Love Donation Program with Yongdam 2-dong in Jeju City at Saebyeol Oreum, and 51 people including community leaders and public officials made mutual donations totaling 5.1 million won.
This cross-donation initiative is an extension of ongoing cooperation discussions between the two local governments since last year. Both cities have agreed to strengthen regional development and community solidarity through the Hometown Love Donation Program. Shinga-dong and Yongdam 2-dong plan to continue their cooperation in various fields moving forward.
Meanwhile, Gwangsan-gu has made a total of five donations, including cross-donations with Jeju Province, amounting to 34.5 million won to date.
