Expanded from 15 to 18 Floors, Increased from 298 to 327 Units
Parking Spaces Doubled, Upgraded Community Facilities
POSCO E&C Solidifies Its Leadership in the Remodeling Market
POSCO E&C announced on the 17th that it has completed the construction of ‘Jamsil The Sharp Ruben,’ the first vertical extension remodeling complex for multi-family housing in Korea, and began move-ins starting from the 7th.
‘Jamsil The Sharp Ruben’ is a complex remodeled using the vertical extension method on the Seongji Apartment, which was originally completed in 1992. It transformed from a building with 2 basement floors to 15 above-ground floors and 298 households into a structure with 3 basement floors to 18 above-ground floors and 327 households. The additional 29 units have been sold through general sales.
Vertical extension is a method of adding floors upward to an existing apartment building, allowing up to three additional floors for buildings with 15 or more floors. However, it requires meeting stringent standards to ensure structural safety and demands advanced technical expertise. POSCO E&C maximized safety by applying various advanced construction methods such as ▲underpinning foundation reinforcement ▲foundation enlargement reinforcement ▲cantilever structure methods. Additionally, precise construction was achieved through the use of BIM (Building Information Modeling) and 3D scanning technology to ensure stable connections with the existing structure.
Through remodeling, the exclusive area of units was expanded from 66㎡ to 83㎡ and from 84㎡ to 106㎡. Space designs reflecting the latest trends, including pantries, dressing rooms, and open kitchens, were applied. The exterior features POSCO’s premium steel material ‘PosMAC’ curtain walls, adding a touch of luxury. Parking spaces nearly doubled compared to before (398 spaces), and various community facilities such as a fitness club, screen golf course, small library, and electric vehicle charging stations were newly established.
POSCO E&C is currently carrying out remodeling construction as the contractor for six public-supported remodeling complexes, including Seongnam Mujigae Village Complex 4 and Neti Village Complexes 3 and 4, with plans to proceed with general sales sequentially this year. The company also recorded its first achievement this year by winning the remodeling project for Sangnok Tower in Gwangjang-dong, Seoul. It is solidifying its position as an industry leader by challenging to be the sole contractor for the largest remodeling project in the Gangnam area, ‘Isu Geukdong and Woosung Complexes 2 and 3.’
