From the 17th, the number of stocks available for trading on NextTrade, Korea's first Alternative Trading System (ATS), will increase from 10 to 110. Many large-cap stocks, including DB Insurance and LG Household & Health Care, which are among the top market capitalizations on the KOSPI, have been added, raising expectations for active trading.
Earlier, NextTrade announced on the 14th that the trading targets would be expanded to 55 stocks from the KOSPI market and 55 stocks from the KOSDAQ market starting that day. As of 8:17 AM, 69 stocks totaling 84,000 shares were traded in the pre-market session for approximately 1.6 billion KRW.
Among KOSPI-listed companies, notable new inclusions are Shinsegae, Nongshim, Lotte Chilsung, NCSoft, E-Mart, Hanwha, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, DB Insurance, GS Engineering & Construction, and LG Household & Health Care. Many securities firms such as Samsung Securities, Kiwoom Securities, Korea Financial Group, BNK Financial Group, and NH Investment & Securities were also added.
Among KOSDAQ-listed companies, Studio Dragon, Seegene, AhnLab, Cheonbo, Caregen, POSCO M-Tech, CJ ENM, and SOOP joined the list. Semiconductor materials and equipment stocks such as Doosan Testna, Wonik IPS, PSK, and Hana Materials were also included.
With a significant number of large-cap stocks belonging to KOSPI 200 and KOSDAQ 150 included, expectations are rising that trading on NextTrade will become more active.
Meanwhile, starting next week, which marks the fourth week since its launch, the number of tradable stocks will expand to a total of 350. It will be possible to trade Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, the leading stocks on the KOSPI. From the 31st, the number of tradable stocks will gradually increase to 800 and beyond.
With the launch of NextTrade, investors can now trade stocks for 12 hours a day, from 8 AM to 8 PM. The main market operates from 9 AM to 3:20 PM, the pre-market from 8 AM to 8:50 AM, and the after-market from 3:30 PM to 8 PM.
