Former People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon stated that acceptance of the impeachment judgment of President Yoon Seok-yeol under the liberal democratic system is natural.

On the 16th, after attending a service at Yoido Full Gospel Church in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, former leader Han responded to reporters' questions about his stance on the impeachment judgment by saying, "Acceptance is natural."

Han said, "I believe the Constitutional Court will make a decision in accordance with the Constitution and the spirit of the Constitution," adding, "South Korea is a country that has very arduously adapted to the liberal democratic system for a long time."

Regarding Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, mentioning the need for constitutional amendment on the 12th, Han said, "It is important to align the terms of members of the National Assembly and the president."

He argued, "That promise ultimately increases the feasibility of constitutional amendment," and warned, "If we do not properly amend the constitution, we will face such incidents (martial law and presidential impeachment) again." He added, "This is a time that requires determination," and "A promise to shorten the term must be a prerequisite."

Former leader Han criticized, "Didn't Leader Lee say something like this? He probably meant to continue with the current system until his own term ends, but with such determination, we cannot dismantle the 1987 system and move forward into a new era."
