Gwangju City announced on the 16th that it will implement the "Employment Support Project for Women with Disabilities" to promote the economic independence and social participation of local women with disabilities.

Previously, through a public contest, the city selected the Gwangju Women's Resources Development Center as the implementing agency for this project. The Gwangju Women's Resources Development Center is working to alleviate the employment difficulties faced by women with disabilities and to provide job opportunities by ▲ forming networks with organizations for the disabled, related agencies, and experts ▲ expanding the number of participating companies, including social enterprises and general businesses.

In addition, it provides customized programs for women with disabilities, supporting everything from employment to post-employment management, such as ▲ social networking service (SNS) promotional marketing ▲ basic computer skills training and other job-related education ▲ workplace adaptation programs.

In particular, even after employment, the city plans to create an environment where women with disabilities can maintain their jobs by visiting companies and conducting phone consultations at least once a month to manage the work environment and resolve any issues between employers and employees.

The city and the center will recruit 15 companies and women with disabilities to participate in this project from April 1 to 15. Selected women with disabilities will receive job training and support in finding employment, while participating companies will receive wage subsidies for women with disabilities (1.72 million KRW per person per month) for six months.

Women and companies interested in participating in the Employment Support Project for Women with Disabilities can apply by visiting the Gwangju Women's Resources Development Center or by email. For more details, please contact the Gwangju Women's Resources Development Center.

Choi Jina, Director of the Department of Women and Family, said, "Supporting the economic independence of women with disabilities is not just about providing jobs, but about creating an inclusive society where everyone grows together," and added, "We will expand various employment support programs."
