Applications for Designation as Professional Arts Corporations or Organizations Accepted Until the 21st

Jeollanam-do is accepting applications for designation as professional arts corporations or organizations, recognizing the expertise of cultural and artistic groups whose main purpose is performance and exhibition projects, and aiming to foster competitive cultural and arts entities.
The application period for designation as a professional arts corporation or organization is from the 17th to the 21st. Applications can be submitted in person or by mail to the Jeollanam-do Department of Culture and Arts.
Eligible applicants are non-profit corporations or organizations based in Jeollanam-do that engage in cultural and artistic activities. For the performing arts sector, there must be at least one regular or planned performance per year over the past two years. For the visual arts and exhibition sector, there must be at least two regular creative or planned exhibitions per year over the past two years.
The designation process involves a first stage of document review and on-site inspection, followed by a second stage of deliberation by the Jeollanam-do Regional Cultural Cooperation Committee. Designated corporations or organizations are allowed to solicit donations, and donors can receive tax benefits as well as reductions in inheritance and gift taxes as stipulated by relevant laws.
Non-profit arts corporations or organizations wishing to apply must submit the application form and supporting documents within the deadline.
Kang Hyoseok, Director of the Jeollanam-do Department of Cultural Prosperity, said, "Once designated as a professional arts corporation or organization, you can receive various support such as the ability to solicit donations and tax benefits."
As of the end of 2024, there are a total of 1,891 designated professional arts corporations or organizations nationwide. Of these, 115 are located in Jeollanam-do, accounting for about 6% of the total.
