"We Must Not Repeat the Mistake of President Park's Impeachment"

On the 15th, the People Power Party visited Daegu and Gyeongbuk (TK), a conservative stronghold, to urge the dismissal and rejection of the impeachment against President Yoon Suk-yeol.

Lawmakers Na Kyung-won, Yoon Sang-hyun, Lee Man-hee, Koo Ja-geun, Jang Dong-hyuk, and Kang Myung-gu attended the "National Emergency Prayer Meeting" held by the conservative Christian group Save Korea in front of Gumi Station in Gumi City, Gyeongbuk.

Lawmaker Na Kyung-won raised her voice, saying, "When former President Park Chung-hee visited Taiwan in 1969, he said, 'The Republic of Korea is a bastion of freedom.' Let's make the waves of freedom even stronger. The start of that is the day President Yoon returns to office with the impeachment nullified and dismissed."

Lawmaker Yoon Sang-hyun emphasized, "Gumi is the birthplace of the unparalleled hero and immortal leader, President Park Chung-hee. We must rearm ourselves with the indomitable spirit of Park Chung-hee to rescue President Yoon, who is trapped in the furnace of impeachment trials, and protect the Republic of Korea's liberal democracy and rule of law."

He continued, "Seven to eight years ago, we foolishly committed the mistake of impeaching our former President Park Geun-hye. We must never repeat such an error. The impeachment of President Yoon must be definitely dismissed."

Lawmaker Jang Dong-hyuk said, "There is not much time left before the dismissal of President Yoon's impeachment," and added, "We must fight until the end. The appointment of Ma Eun-hyuk (Constitutional Court Justice) must be blocked at all costs."

Lawmaker Kang Myung-gu recalled the time on the 3rd when he visited former President Park Geun-hye with the party leadership, saying, "Former President Park was very worried about President Yoon," and then shouted, "We must definitely stop this fraudulent impeachment."

Governor Lee Cheol-woo of Gyeongbuk appealed, "Let's open the 'Yoon Suk-yeol 2.0 era' and move toward a free Korea and peaceful unification."
