Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) decided on the 15th to provide emergency disaster basic income of 1 million KRW to residents affected by the Air Force fighter jet accidental bombing incident, and also decided to support residents of Idong-myeon with 500,000 KRW of disaster basic income.

Pocheon City "Disaster Basic Income of 500,000 Won Also Provided to Residents of Idong-myeon Affected by the Explosion Accident" Baek Young-hyun, Mayor of Pocheon City, announced on the 15th that he will provide emergency disaster basic income of 1 million won to residents affected by the Air Force fighter jet accidental bombing incident, and also support 500,000 won of disaster basic income to residents of Idong-myeon. Provided by Pocheon City.

On the 11th, Pocheon City proactively decided to provide emergency disaster basic income support according to the Pocheon City Disaster Basic Income Payment Ordinance for the swift recovery of affected residents, and had planned to pay 1 million KRW in cash per affected resident.

In addition, Pocheon City decided to expand the disaster basic income payment of 500,000 KRW to residents of Idong-myeon, including Nogok 2-ri and Nogok 3-ri, beyond the affected residents.

The expansion of the payment target by Pocheon City is a proactive measure to prevent the collapse of the local commercial district caused by the accidental bombing incident and to promote the stabilization of people's livelihoods.

The disaster basic income for Idong-myeon will be accepted from April 1 to April 15 (including weekends). The city plans to announce detailed schedules such as reception locations separately once consultations are completed.

The support target includes those who have continuously registered their residence in Idong-myeon, Pocheon City from March 6, 2025, to the announcement date, or those who were registered in Idong-myeon, Pocheon City on the day of the accident, March 6, 2025, but have since moved to other towns or townships under Pocheon City's jurisdiction as of the announcement date. Registered foreigners and overseas Koreans are also eligible to receive the payment.

However, those who have moved out to other local governments outside Pocheon City or have already received disaster basic income related to the Air Force fighter jet accidental bombing incident are not eligible to apply.

Pocheon City plans to allocate about 2.3 billion KRW of disaster-purpose contingency funds for this disaster basic income support, and once preparations for reception are complete, will accept applications and pay 500,000 KRW per person via bank transfer.

Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon City said, “This decision to provide disaster basic income is a measure not only to support the victims but also to prevent the collapse of the commercial district caused by the accident and to help stabilize people's livelihoods as soon as possible. We will continue to spare no support at the city level.”

Meanwhile, Pocheon City plans to submit a proposal for local tax reduction to the Pocheon City Council's extraordinary session this month to promote local tax reductions.

The reduction target is property damaged by the disaster within the special disaster area, and 100% reduction of property tax and automobile tax for 2025 will be applied.

The reduction will be implemented either ex officio or upon application, and if local taxes have already been paid, a refund can be received.
