Over 100,000 Participants Expected at Both Pro- and Anti-Impeachment Rallies
As the Constitutional Court is expected to deliver a ruling on President Yoon Seok-yeol's impeachment trial next week, pro- and anti-impeachment groups have announced large-scale rallies across Seoul on the 15th.
The "Emergency Action for Immediate Resignation of Yoon Seok-yeol and Social Reform" (Emergency Action), which calls for President Yoon's impeachment, will hold the 15th Pan-Citizen March at 4 p.m. in front of Dongsipjagak in Gwanghwamun, Jongno-gu. The Emergency Action declared the day as the "Day of One Million Citizens' Concentration." The expected number of participants reported to the police is 100,000.
Earlier, at 3 p.m. at the same location, the five opposition parties in the National Assembly will host the "Joint Emergency National Rally of the Five Opposition Parties." The Candlelight Action will also hold a candlelight cultural event at 2 p.m. in front of Exit 1 of Anguk Station, urging the dismissal of President Yoon.
The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) will hold a nationwide workers' rally with about 30,000 participants at 3 p.m. in front of Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station.

The "Movement to Set the Republic of Korea Right" (Daegukbon), opposing President Yoon's impeachment, will hold a large-scale rally around Gwanghwamun at 1 p.m., followed by an additional rally in front of Exit 5 of Anguk Station.
The Presidential National Defense Lawyers will hold an anti-impeachment rally at 6:30 p.m. in front of Exit 3 of Anguk Station.
The conservative Christian group Save Korea plans to hold national emergency prayer meetings in 13 regions nationwide. In Seoul, they will hold a prayer meeting-style rally at 1 p.m. in front of Exit 3 of National Assembly Station.
Daegukbon and Save Korea have reported to the police that they expect 100,000 and 20,000 participants, respectively.
