Reducing Childcare Burden for Dual-Income Families
Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 14th that it will officially operate the ‘Smart Safe Shuttle (Pouri)’ starting from the 17th to support safe after-school transportation for elementary school students and reduce the childcare burden on dual-income families.

The ‘Smart Safe Shuttle (Pouri)’ designates major hub facilities frequently used by elementary school students after school, such as Myeonam Central Library, Youth Culture House, and Pocheon Sports Park, as stops, and operates from Monday to Friday between 1:00 PM and 7:40 PM.
Elementary school students within the operating area can ride for free, and students who wish to use the service can install the ‘Pouri’ application on their smartphones and use the call function to request a vehicle.
The city expects that this project will facilitate smoother use of after-school educational and cultural facilities and enhance the safety of children’s transportation. It also plans to analyze demand for usage and consider adding more vehicles and expanding routes in the future.
A Pocheon City official said, “We will do our best to operate the ‘Smart Safe Shuttle (Pouri)’ to reduce the childcare burden on dual-income families and ensure that children can travel more safely,” and added, “We ask for the interest and use of many parents and students.”
