Amid forecasts that the Constitutional Court's ruling on President Yoon Seok-yeol's impeachment trial is imminent, both ruling and opposition parties are focusing all their efforts on an outdoor public opinion battle this weekend.
On the 15th, members of the People Power Party will gather at a large-scale anti-impeachment rally organized by the conservative Christian group Save Korea at Gumi Station in Gyeongbuk. Lawmakers Na Kyung-won, Koo Ja-geun, Jang Dong-hyuk, and Kang Myung-gu will take the stage as speakers.
Lawmaker Song Eon-seok will host an anti-impeachment rally in his constituency, Gimcheon, Gyeongbuk. Anti-impeachment rallies are expected to be held nationwide, with lawmakers from nearby constituencies attending rallies organized by Save Korea's regional headquarters.
About ten lawmakers, including Park Deok-heum, Kim Jeong-jae, and Song Eon-seok, will continue the '24-hour relay protest' in front of the Constitutional Court, which began on the 11th, through the 15th and 16th. Lawmakers such as Jang Dong-hyuk will participate in the anti-impeachment protest in front of the Constitutional Court hosted by the 'Presidential National Defense Lawyers,' a group of supporters of President Yoon.
The Democratic Party of Korea will hold the 4th walking march from the National Assembly to the Gwanghwamun Government Seoul Office on the 15th, conducting a public opinion campaign urging the dismissal of President Yoon. At the 'Joint Emergency National Rally of the Five Opposition Parties' hosted by five opposition parties in the National Assembly, including the Innovation Party for Justice and the Progressive Party, they will call for the swift dismissal of President Yoon. On the 16th, they plan to continue the walking march and the opposition coalition's 'Call for President Yoon's Dismissal' rally, intensifying pressure on the Constitutional Court.
