On the 14th, the Myung Tae-gyun Allegations Task Force at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (led by Deputy Chief Prosecutor Lee Ji-hyung) reportedly summoned Lee, who was questioned as a witness.

The prosecution is examining allegations that during the April 7, 2021 Seoul mayoral by-election, the Mirae Korea Research Institute, operated by Myung, conducted 13 undisclosed opinion polls related to Mayor Oh and received 33 million KRW in payments from businessman Kim Han-jung, known as a long-time supporter of Mayor Oh.

Lee served as the deputy director of the Yeouido Research Institute, the think tank of the People Power Party, from 2017 to 2018, and during the Seoul mayoral by-election, he was the head of public relations for Mayor Oh's election campaign committee. From June 2021, he worked as the spokesperson for the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

The prosecution is reportedly investigating whether the opinion poll results created by Myung's side were delivered to Mayor Oh's campaign at the time. On the same day, Kim Han-jung was also re-summoned and questioned as a suspect.
