- Development of Innovative Filler Technology Enabling Viscoelasticity Control Without Chemical Crosslinkers
- Continued R&D Achievements Following Last Year’s Hyaluronic Acid-Chitosan Patent Registration
Corufarma is making progress in research and development in the next-generation filler field by registering a patent for a new filler technology using agarose.
Global medical aesthetic company Corufarma (CEO Roman Vernidub) announced on the 17th that it has completed patent registration for an innovative technology that manufactures hyaluronic acid-agarose composite fillers without chemical crosslinkers.
The newly developed patent by Corufarma is an innovative filler formulation technology that produces hydrogels by combining the natural substance agarose and hyaluronic acid. By bonding hyaluronic acid and agarose in a semi-interpenetrating polymer network (Semi-IPN) structure, it is possible to control viscoelasticity, ensuring both safety and efficacy. This is expected to dramatically improve the durability and biocompatibility of fillers.
Following the acquisition of a patent for a hyaluronic acid-chitosan formulation last July, Corufarma has secured multiple next-generation filler technologies with the recent hyaluronic acid-agarose patent. Utilizing the hyaluronic acid-agarose composite technology allows precise control of filler viscoelasticity while maintaining uniform injectability and excellent durability, enabling more stable filler procedures.
A Corufarma representative stated, “A new product using the newly patented peptide (Koru-Peptide), registered earlier this year, will be launched soon,” adding, “We will further advance next-generation filler technologies to meet market demands and strengthen market-oriented technology development to enhance our position in the global medical aesthetic market.”
Since its establishment in 2016, Corufarma has supplied filler injectables and skin boosters to approximately 120 countries worldwide. Moving forward, the company plans to commercialize crosslinker-free next-generation fillers to promote the competitiveness of K-Beauty in the global market and grow as the No.1 company in the Health Care & Beauty sector.
