LG Chem announced on the 14th that it will participate in ‘Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2025,’ held in Bologna, Italy, for three days starting from the 20th, exhibiting eco-friendly products made from sustainable raw materials.
The Cosmoprof exhibition is the world’s largest beauty industry fair, with about 3,000 cosmetic companies participating, including those in materials, packaging, original design manufacturing (ODM), and brands.
At the eco zone of the Cosmax booth, an eco-friendly partner company, LG Chem will broadly showcase an eco-friendly material portfolio leading sustainability in the beauty industry, from containers to packaging made using eco-friendly raw materials.
At the exhibition booth, beauty containers applying BCB (Bio-Circular Balanced) materials, a drop-in solution that can be immediately applied in desired proportions using renewable plant-based raw materials such as waste cooking oil, and CB (Circular Balanced) materials chemically recycled from plastics will be displayed.
These products maintain the physical properties and functionality of existing products while being produced from sustainable raw materials through resource circulation, drawing attention as a product group that contributes to solving carbon reduction and plastic waste issues faced by the beauty industry.
Samples of mask pack pouches made from ‘UNIQABLE,’ a single polyethylene (PE) material developed with LG Chem’s proprietary technology, will also be exhibited. UNIQABLE is characterized by being made from a single material that maintains the durability of conventional composite packaging films, enabling 100% recyclability while simultaneously providing barrier properties and transparency.
Based on a production system capable of immediate response customized from eco-friendly raw materials to products, LG Chem plans to actively target the sustainability needs of beauty customers and markets in the future. LG Chem is expected to internalize the basic raw materials necessary for producing chemically recycled materials by operating Asia’s first supercritical pyrolysis oil plant within the first half of this year.
Additionally, leveraging the research capabilities of the Color Design Center within the Customer Satisfaction (CS) Center, LG Chem plans to support product development that meets eco-friendly trends by realizing various design elements such as colors and textures pursued by beauty brands using sustainable materials.
Along with this, LG Chem plans to strengthen its digital customer relationship management (CRM) system to systematically analyze the sustainability needs and interests of various beauty customers and support the connection of LG Chem’s eco-friendly packaging materials with the identity of beauty brands.
An LG Chem official said, “Through participation in this exhibition, we will showcase sustainable beauty materials and customized solutions, further solidifying our position in the global market.”
