Dodgers vs. Cubs Game
to Be Broadcast in ScreenX
CGV announced on the 13th that it will broadcast live the Major League Baseball World Tour Tokyo Series between the Los Angeles (LA) Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs, held at Tokyo Dome in Japan on the 18th, in ScreenX.
ScreenX is a special theater that extends the screen to the left and right walls. It expands the screen frame to the entire space with panoramic images, providing a wide viewing angle. In baseball broadcasts, scenes such as the stands, benches, and base runner situations are shown on the left and right walls.
Kim Jin-ho, head of the CGV Icecon Business Team, said, "It was first introduced in Game 4 of last year's Korean Series and received great response," adding, "This time as well, we will deliver a vivid sense of presence and immersion as if watching live at Tokyo Dome."
The game features many players representing Major League Baseball. These include Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts (all Dodgers), Seiya Suzuki, and Shota Imanaga (both Cubs).
