The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education will hold the 'School Lifelong Education Support Group Launch Ceremony.'
On the 13th, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced that it will award appointment certificates to 436 members of the School Lifelong Education Support Group (249 reappointed, 187 newly appointed) at the main office auditorium and hold the 2025 launch ceremony.
The School Lifelong Education Support Group project is part of the 'School-Support Type Lifelong Education Activation Project' promoted by the Seoul Lifelong Education Information Center. The support group consists of parents and individuals with experience in educational activities. The appointment period is one year, and new members are recruited annually. They mainly operate various programs for educationally marginalized groups at institutions such as elementary after-school care classrooms and literacy education programs recognized for academic credit.
In particular, they have continuously developed play-centered programs since 2014, such as 'Crafting with Storybooks,' 'Learning History through Play,' and 'Art Convergence Play through Artists' Works,' achieving a satisfaction rate of 94.6% in their activities last year.
Jeong Geun-sik, Superintendent of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "Providing high-quality integrated education and care services is important," adding, "We will not only support the learning and activities of the School Lifelong Education Support Group but also further strengthen cooperation with excellent human resources in the local community."
