Yangpyeong-gun Holds Launch Ceremony for Yangpyeong Fishery Cooperative's Fishery Management Vessel

Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Jeon Jin-seon) announced on the 12th that it held a launching ceremony for the Yangpyeong Fishing Cooperative’s fishery management vessel on the 11th. About 50 people, including Jeon Jin-seon, Governor of Yangpyeong-gun, Ji Min-hee, member of the Yangpyeong County Council, and Kim Nam-seong, chairman of the Yangpyeong Autonomous Fisheries Management Community, attended the event to celebrate the departure of the new fishery management vessel.

The newly introduced fishery management vessel has a total capacity of 3 tons, is equipped with a 150-horsepower engine, and is designed to accommodate up to 10 people on board. Made of fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP), it offers excellent durability and stable navigation. Through this, fishermen in Yangpyeong-gun are expected to manage fishing grounds more efficiently and safely.


The Yangpyeong Autonomous Fisheries Management Community plans to effectively collect underwater abandoned fishing nets and gear within the fishing grounds through the introduction of this fishery management vessel and create a sustainable fishing environment. Additionally, various operations will be supported to protect marine resources and improve the work efficiency of fishermen.


Jeon Jin-seon, Governor of Yangpyeong-gun, stated, "The introduction of this fishery management vessel is expected to greatly contribute to the development of the fisheries industry in Yangpyeong-gun and the creation of a safe working environment for fishermen," adding, "We will continue to actively support the establishment of a sustainable fishing environment."
