Paju-si Increases Support Fund for Menstrual Products for Adolescent Girls... Up to 168,000 KRW Annually

Applications Accepted at the Nearest Eup, Myeon, or Dong Administrative Welfare Center Regardless of Registered Address

Paju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Kyung-il) announced on the 12th that the support amount for the 'Menstrual Product Purchase Voucher' provided to vulnerable female adolescents has been increased from 156,000 KRW to 168,000 KRW.

The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family has raised the support amount for menstrual product purchase vouchers this year and allowed applications to be made at the administrative welfare centers of the actual residential 읍면동 (eup, myeon, dong) if the resident registration address differs from the actual residence.

The support targets female adolescents aged 9 to 24 (based on 2025, born between January 1, 2000, and December 31, 2016) who are recipients of livelihood, medical, housing, or education benefits under the National Basic Livelihood Security Act, legally low-income groups, and households supported under the Single-Parent Family Support Act.

Applications can be made by the adolescent herself or her guardian (parent) by visiting the 읍면동 administrative welfare center or by accessing the 'Bokjiro' website or 'Bokjiro' app. Starting this year, applications can also be submitted at the nearest 읍면동 administrative welfare center even if the resident registration address differs from the actual residence.

Once applied, if there are no changes in eligibility criteria, continuous support can be received annually without the need for reapplication.

Once approved as a beneficiary, a National Happiness Card will be issued, which can be used to purchase menstrual products at designated convenience stores or online shopping malls.

Kim Su-tae, Director of the Youth and Adolescent Division, said, “With the increase in the support amount for female adolescent menstrual products this year and the ability to apply at 읍면동 administrative welfare centers regardless of address, we expect vulnerable female adolescents to grow up in a better environment.”
