The Songsansaji Neighborhood Park parking lot, which opened on the 11th, has a total of 46 spaces. It was created to improve the road environment around the park, where illegal parking was frequent due to the lack of separate parking spaces.
Designed to harmonize with cultural heritage by utilizing traditional walls and a design park, it was developed as a park-style parking lot with added greenery instead of a barren concrete parking lot, providing a pleasant space. Grass, shrubs, and trees were planted to add eco-friendly elements.
To commemorate the opening, the parking lot will be free of charge throughout March, and even after that, parking is free for up to 3 hours. If parking exceeds 3 hours, a maximum daily fee of 5,000 KRW will be charged. This plan aims to provide convenience for visitors while preventing long-term parking for efficient operation.
Mayor Kim Dong-geun, who visited the site that day, inspected the status of the parking lot construction and future operation plans, and met with citizens to listen to various opinions on improving the park and green space environment and creating a walkable city.
Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “I expect that the establishment of the Songsansaji Neighborhood Park parking lot will resolve the parking inconvenience for visitors,” and added, “We will continue to reflect citizens’ opinions to create a more convenient and safe city where people want to walk.”
