About 100 people, including Mayor Bang Se-hwan, city and provincial council members, and local residents, attended the completion ceremony to share the progress of the parking lot construction and celebrate the opening of the facility.
The annexed parking lot of Hogukbohun Park was completed with a total project cost of 5.1 billion KRW (500 million KRW from the national government, 900 million KRW from the provincial government, 2 billion KRW from special adjustment grants, and 500 million KRW from special local tax), to alleviate parking inconveniences for park visitors and local residents. The parking lot is a parking tower with a total floor area of 3,241㎡, consisting of 3 floors and 4 levels, providing a total of 135 parking spaces.
This parking lot will undergo a pilot operation until April and will switch to paid parking starting in May. Through this, it plans to provide a smoother and more convenient parking environment for park visitors and local residents.
Mayor Bang Se-hwan said, “With the completion of the annexed parking lot at Gwangju City’s Hogukbohun Park, the convenience of parking for park visitors and local residents will be greatly improved,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to resolve parking inconveniences for citizens and create a safe and convenient parking environment.”
