Yangju City Soju and Takju Win Grand Prize at the 'Korea Liquor Awards'

‘Yangju Doga Agricultural Corporation’ and ‘Yangjugoliga Traditional Liquor’
Win Grand Prizes at the 2025 Korea Liquor Awards

Gyeonggi Yangju City (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 11th that two traditional liquor manufacturers in the city, ‘Yangju Doga Agricultural Corporation Co., Ltd.’ and ‘Yangjugoliga Traditional Liquor,’ each won the grand prize in the premium soju category and the takju category, respectively, at the ‘2025 Korea Liquor Awards’ recently held at Seoul SETEC (Convention Center).

The ‘Korea Liquor Awards’ is a representative liquor competition hosted annually by Chosun Biz since 2014 with the goal of ‘discovering and widely promoting good domestic liquors and supporting the formation of a healthy liquor culture.’


This year’s event saw fierce competition with 236 companies participating and submitting a total of 1,008 brands.


‘Yangju Doga Agricultural Corporation Co., Ltd.’ previously won the grand prize in the takju category in 2021 with ‘Byeolsan Makgeolli’ and ‘Byeolsan Odi Sparkling,’ and last year, it won the grand prize in the soju category with ‘Byeolsan Soju 25.’


This year, it continued its reputation by winning the grand prize in the premium soju (under 26%) category with ‘Sokool.’


‘Yangjugoliga Traditional Liquor’ was once again recognized for its excellence by winning the grand prize in the takju category at the 2025 Korea Liquor Awards with ‘Igaju Tak,’ which was launched in 2024.


This company has received the grand prize for four consecutive years from 2019 to 2022 with the spoonable takju ‘Ihwaju,’ won the grand prize and Best of Best in 2021 with ‘Jujumchi 17 (Gaeddongsuk Yakju),’ and in 2023, it received the grand prize and Best of 2023 with ‘Jujumchi 2 (Yakju),’ earning numerous honors.


A city official stated, “We take great pride in the fact that premium traditional liquors brewed in our region continue to receive excellent evaluations and recognition for their value,” adding, “We will spare no effort to provide continuous support so that the traditional liquor industry utilizing local agricultural products can contribute to increasing farmers’ income and mutual development.”
