Selected for the "2025 Chungnam Village Development Project"
A total project budget of 1.7 billion KRW to be provided over three years until 2027
On the 11th, Dangjin City in Chungcheongnam-do announced that three villages?Sanseong-ri in Jeongmi-myeon, Seongwon-ri in Ugam-myeon, and Maesan 1-ri in Sinpyeong-myeon?have been selected for the "2025 Chungnam Village Development Project" organized by Chungcheongnam-do Province.
The Chungnam Village Development Project aims to revitalize villages by encouraging residents to take the lead in planned development, such as expanding basic living infrastructure, increasing income, and improving the landscape. The project seeks to maintain the population and address fundamental issues such as low birth rates, aging, and polarization through resident-led community activities.
In the public contest, Sanseong-ri in Jeongmi-myeon was selected for the Comprehensive Development category (project cost: 1 billion KRW), Seongwon-ri in Ugam-myeon for the Autonomous Development (medium-scale) category (project cost: 500 million KRW), and Maesan 1-ri in Sinpyeong-myeon for the Autonomous Development (small-scale) category (project cost: 200 million KRW). Accordingly, a total project budget of 1.7 billion KRW will be provided over the next three years.
Additionally, each village will pursue tailored plans with their own visions: Sanseong-ri in Jeongmi-myeon with "Ongojisin," Seongwon-ri in Ugam-myeon with "A Village That Accumulates Time, Seongwon-ri," and Maesan 1-ri in Sinpyeong-myeon with "Community Farm Maesan 1-ri." Various projects will be implemented to invigorate these rural communities.
An official from the city's Agricultural Policy Division stated, "Through this project, we aim to revitalize rural villages and enhance residents' capabilities, fostering the growth of community villages nurtured together."
