Opening of Online, Offline, and University-Linked Courses
Expanding Student Choice and Learning Opportunities
The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education will offer 141 joint education courses, both online and offline, for high school juniors and seniors.
According to the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education on the 11th, the joint education program is a regular curriculum where subjects that are difficult to open at a student's own school are operated in cooperation with other schools. First-year students can participate starting from the second semester.
The offline program will open 74 courses at 29 schools. Applications are accepted until the 14th through the High School Credit System Support Center website. The online program, operated by Bitgoeul On School, will offer 67 courses, with real-time classes conducted through a video conferencing system.
Main courses include: ▲Global Issues and Future Society ▲Creative Management ▲Basic Nursing Clinical Practice ▲International Law ▲Theater Production Practice ▲AI Coding Woodworking ▲Spatial Information Convergence Services, and more.
Last year, 2,440 students participated in 188 joint education courses. Since the opening of Bitgoeul On School in 2023, advanced subjects such as programming, big data analysis, and art appreciation and criticism have been offered online, expanding students' choices.
The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education also operates joint education programs in collaboration with universities and institutions. In partnership with Chosun University, Gwangju National University of Education, Chosun Nursing College, and Gwangju Media Center, courses such as ▲Life Science Experiments ▲Education Studies ▲Video Production ▲Public Health ▲Basic Nursing Clinical Practice have been established. The number of participating institutions will be expanded in the second semester.
Superintendent Lee Jeongseon said, "Through the joint education program, we will guarantee students' right to choose subjects and provide opportunities for in-depth learning."
