Kim Dong-yeon "The accomplice of the insurrection is detained, but the ringleader is openly roaming... Immediate impeachment urged"

Kim Dong-yeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, lamented that in South Korea, an abnormal situation is occurring where a conspirator of a rebellion is caught, yet the ringleader of the rebellion is openly roaming around. He argued that attempts to delay the impeachment trial are tantamount to a second attempt at rebellion and insisted that immediate impeachment is the only way to save democracy and the economy.

On the 11th, Kim Dong-yeon warned on his social media (SNS) that "immediate impeachment is the only way to prevent the worst-case scenario."

He questioned, "While the conspirator of the rebellion is caught, the ringleader is openly out and about. Where else can you find such an extreme abnormality?"

He continued, "As if that is not enough, the government and ruling party are demanding the resumption of arguments and refusing to appoint candidate Ma Eun-hyuk," criticizing, "Attempts to delay the impeachment trial are no different from a second attempt at rebellion."

In particular, he expressed concern that "the despicable idea of postponing the impeachment ruling until after April 18, when the terms of two Constitutional Court justices end, is intended to let the impeachment fade away," and warned, "Yoon Seok-yeol's return will soon bring about a second rebellion."

He also claimed, "It is obvious that this will lead to 'civil war in the country,' 'a fall in national dignity,' and 'economic collapse,'" and insisted, "Immediate impeachment is the most certain way to save democracy and the economy."

Furthermore, he expressed concern, saying, "Our economy's resilience is running out of time," and warned, "If political uncertainty continues longer, we will face a serious economic shock."

Therefore, he pressured, "Since the Constitutional Court is the final adjudicator of the constitutional system, failing to promptly impeach would be a self-denial of its very existence."

He added, "The proud Republic of Korea, which achieved industrialization and democratization simultaneously, cannot be sunk by rebel forces," and promised, "I will also put greater effort into 100% impeachment, immediate impeachment."
