Governor Kim Taeheum: "We Will Ensure Synergy Between Culture, Arts, and Tourism Industries by Next Year" Chungnam Governor Kim Taeheum held a meeting with the executives of the Chungnam Federation of Arts and Culture.

Kim Tae-heum, Governor of Chungnam, has pledged to take the lead in improving the creative environment for local artists and to build a powerful cultural Chungnam with strong artistic roots.


On the morning of the 11th, Governor Kim held a meeting in the provincial government situation room with Oh Tae-geun, President of the Korea Federation of Arts and Culture Organizations Chungcheongnam-do Branch, and about 20 executives, where they exchanged opinions on ways to revitalize local culture and arts and directions for supporting art organizations.


The province plans to gather and reflect the various opinions and voices from the field shared with the Chungnam Federation of Arts and Culture Organizations during the meeting, to review and incorporate them when implementing Chungnam's culture and arts policies, and to enhance the effectiveness of related projects.


Governor Kim stated, "It is a reality that K-culture is on the rise worldwide these days. For Chungnam to become the center of K-culture, fundamentally greater investment in culture and the arts is necessary," and added, "The province will actively expand cultural accessibility so that culture and the arts can become a part of residents' daily lives."


He introduced major cultural and artistic projects and policies such as the Chungnam Art Museum, the Chungnam Arts Center, and the e-sports permanent stadium currently under construction, as well as upcoming events like the K-culture Expo, Baekje Cultural Festival, the Youth Art Festival for nurturing young artists, and international exchange exhibitions. He emphasized his commitment to taking the lead in improving the creative environment for artists in the province.


In particular, Governor Kim promised, "From this year through next year, starting with the 'Visit Chungnam Year,' we will create a synergy between culture, the arts, and the tourism industry," and added, "We will continue to communicate with the Chungnam Federation of Arts and Culture Organizations so that Chungnam's cultural and arts policies can take another step forward."


Meanwhile, Chungnam Province is planning to operate cultural and artistic programs at major tourist destinations in celebration of the '2025-2026 Visit Chungnam Year.' The province is currently planning exhibitions, performances, festivals, and hands-on events, and is preparing to launch the Chungnam Provincial Arts Group, which will promote the region's cultural value and provide residents with opportunities to enjoy culture.
