The main discussion topics included ▲support for global research and development (R&D) and overseas expansion ▲strengthening overseas intellectual property protection ▲expansion of IP finance and evaluation support for funding ▲simplification of procedures and processing periods for designation of excellent procurement products, along with proposals for on-site regulatory improvements and measures to strengthen the global competitiveness of Innobiz companies.
Since signing a business agreement in June 2022, both parties have established a cooperative system to spread intellectual property management. The association is the only small and medium enterprise cooperative organization designated by the Korean Intellectual Property Office as an 'evaluation institution for inventions, etc.,' actively promoting funding for innovative companies and revitalizing intellectual property finance.
Jeong Gwangcheon, President of the Innobiz Association, stated, "As global technology competition intensifies recently, the importance of global R&D is increasing even more. Since the export of intellectual property rights by R&D-based Innobiz companies can be a strategic alternative to bypass tariff barriers originating from the United States, we will closely cooperate with the Korean Intellectual Property Office."
