China, where elderly care has become a social issue due to population aging, has introduced new policies such as providing additional pensions to parents with only one child.

On the 11th, China Zhonghua Net reported, "Families with only one child face greater pressure in supporting their parents, so the state has introduced this policy to alleviate that burden."

To receive pension benefits, documents proving that the child is an only child, retirement certificates, household registration copies, and marriage certificates are required. Additionally, since the implementation of the policy varies by region, applicants must check the local policy regulations before applying.

According to the report, as population aging has emerged as a social problem, more cities are adopting policies to increase pensions for only children. Sichuan Province and Chongqing provide an additional 3-5% of the retirement pay. Hainan plans to increase the monthly pension amount by 5%.

In regions such as Shandong and Guangzhou, a fixed monthly subsidy is provided. The subsidy in Shandong Province ranges from 100 to 300 yuan (approximately 20,120 to 60,370 KRW), and Guangzhou City supports a fixed amount of 200 yuan (approximately 40,240 KRW) per month.

China Zhonghua Net stated, "This policy is national support aimed at reducing the burden on young people supporting their parents and improving their quality of life," adding, "The pension payment standards for parents with only one child will be further improved in the future."
