Customized Education in Collaboration with Konkuk University and Sejong University to Support Residents' Learning and Growth
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is operating the ‘2025 First Half University-Linked Lifelong Education Program’ to provide residents with a wide range of learning opportunities.
This program was planned in cooperation with Konkuk University, Sejong University, and Sejong Cyber University to satisfy residents' learning desires and support a richer and healthier life.
The program runs for a total of 8 weeks from March to June, offering courses such as ▲Pungsu Geography (Feng Shui) ▲Saju Myeongrihak (Four Pillars of Destiny) ▲Real Estate Auction ▲Drums ▲Barista, consisting of hobby and liberal arts classes. Each course recruits between 10 and 20 participants, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis through the Gwangjin Lifelong Education Portal.
This year, weekday evening and remote lectures will be expanded to create a flexible learning environment that allows various age groups and demographics, including office workers and men, to participate regardless of time and place. Additionally, customized courses reflecting residents' demands will be offered to increase participation rates, and a systematic lifelong learning system will be established to ensure that acquired knowledge leads to practical outcomes such as job creation, entrepreneurship, and social contribution.
The district plans to open additional courses in the second half of the year based on the learning satisfaction and demand from this first half program.
Detailed schedules and registration methods for each course can be found on the Gwangjin Lifelong Education Portal, and inquiries can be made to the Gwangjin-gu Lifelong Education Division at 02-450-9742.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “Everyone has a desire to grow through learning that cannot be fulfilled solely by economic means. We will actively support various lifelong education programs so that Gwangjin residents can improve their quality of life and enjoy greater happiness through learning without economic burdens.”
Last year, the district cooperated with three universities to operate 15 lifelong education courses, with a total of 267 residents participating, providing opportunities for self-development and capacity building.
