Taean County Council's On-Site Awards for Legislative Development Contributors Draw Attention On the 10th, the Taean County Council in Chungnam selected Ahn Hongseop, the head of Janggok 2-ri in Gonan-myeon, as the recipient of the "3rd Visiting Legislative Development Merit Award" and presented the award. The Taean County Council in Chungnam selected Ahn Hongseop, the head of Janggok 2-ri in Gonam-myeon, as the third recipient of the On-site Legislative Development Merit Award on the 10th and presented him with an award.

At the award ceremony held at the village hall that day, Council Chair Jeon Jaeok presented a plaque of commendation to Head Ahn, and the village residents also congratulated him on receiving the award.

Ahn was recognized for his contributions to revitalizing the village community and fostering cooperation among residents by gathering a wide range of opinions from villagers while serving as the head of Janggok 2-ri in Gonam-myeon for nearly nine years.

It is noted that Ahn plays the role of village guardian by visiting elderly residents living alone every morning to greet them, check their health, and ensure their safety at home.

In particular, during the heavy snowfall last winter, before the snowplow even began operating, Ahn rolled up his sleeves at dawn to clear snow from the village paths, preventing residents from slipping and earning great appreciation from the community.

Ahn Hongseop said, "I simply did what I was supposed to do as a village head, but I am overwhelmed to receive this award from the chairperson. I will take this as encouragement to continue serving the residents even more diligently."

Chair Jeon Jaeok stated, "Thanks to dedicated village heads like you, who bridge the gap between administration and residents, the future of our region remains bright. Although you humbly said you feel undeserving of this award, I believe you are the most deserving recipient given your long-standing dedication to the community."

This marks the third On-site Legislative Development Merit Award ceremony by the Taean County Council, which, as the name 'on-site' suggests, personally seeks out unsung volunteers, drawing much attention.

The approach of having conversations and listening to the recipients' concerns is being praised as a new attempt that breaks away from the conventional format of award ceremonies.

So far, the first recipient was Lee Byungsang, an elderly resident who cleaned the children's park every day for five years, and the second was Yoon Sunsook, the head of the Saemaeul Women's Association in Sakseon-ri, Taean-eup, who spread a warm community spirit by preparing heartfelt meals for residents on their birthdays each month, both of whom received great support from the residents.

An official from the Taean County Council said, "Thanks to those who work quietly and selflessly without seeking recognition in our daily lives, Taean County is becoming an even better place to live. If you know of such individuals around you, please let us know so that their inspiring stories can be widely shared."
