Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture and National Opera Company Cultural Arts Education Mutual Cooperation MOU

On the 10th at 2 p.m., the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture and the National Opera Company announced on the 11th that they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for mutual cooperation in arts education at the Seoul Arts Education Center Seocho.


The two organizations signed this agreement aiming to revitalize the operation of the Seoul Arts Education Center Seocho and to spread the value of opera education. The Seoul Arts Education Center Seocho (located in Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu) is a music-specialized arts education center opened in November last year by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture.


Through the agreement, the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture and the National Opera Company agreed to ▲ co-host the '2025 International Opera Education Symposium (July 7?9)' ▲ collaborate on resources and build networks to expand and revitalize the base of pure arts ▲ cooperate on programs to enhance the enjoyment and accessibility of arts education for Seoul citizens ▲ exchange human and material resources including space utilization and share information.

The Seoul Arts Education Center Seocho, operated by the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, serves as the representative arts education hub of the southeastern region among the five regional centers. It is a music-specialized arts education space that connects artists and citizens. It is equipped with facilities suitable for various musical activities such as a performance hall, masterclass room, and ensemble room, and offers arts education programs that provide experiences in music understanding, appreciation, and creation.


Song Hyung-jong, CEO of the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, stated, "Based on the know-how and expertise of both organizations, we can provide citizens with high-quality artistic experiences and convey the value of pure arts. In particular, the international event we are jointly promoting is expected to be an opportunity to mutually expand networks in the opera music world and the field of arts education."


Choi Sang-ho, Director of the National Opera Company, said, "Based on the accumulated experience and expertise in opera education, we will cooperate with the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture to help more citizens become familiar with opera." He added, "Through this agreement, we will strive to spread the value of pure arts and create an educational environment where future generations can naturally encounter opera."
