Up to 50 Million KRW Support
Easing the Housing Cost Burden
Gochang County in North Jeolla Province is implementing an interest-free rental deposit loan support program for current and prospective tenants of public rental apartments.
According to the county on the 11th, this program targets low-income households, newlywed couples within seven years of marriage registration, and unmarried young adults aged 18 to 39.
For newlywed couples scheduled to move in after 2025, support is provided up to 50 million KRW. The basic contract period is two years, and it can be extended up to a maximum of ten years depending on the number of children.
The county aims to improve the residential environment for low-income households and reduce the housing cost burden for newlyweds and young adults, thereby supporting their stable settlement. Furthermore, it is expected to improve living conditions and contribute to increasing the birth rate. Applications are accepted year-round, and detailed information can be found in the announcements section of the county website.
Previously, the county completed the supply of 398 public rental apartment units in the areas of Gochang-eup, Gosu-myeon, and Mujang-myeon, and plans to supply additional units at the terminal and Gosu Industrial Complex. In addition, the county is promoting more advanced housing welfare policies, such as linking public rental apartment move-ins for fire victims and supporting improved housing for container residents.
County Governor Sim Deokseop said, "We hope this will provide practical help to low-income households, newlywed couples, and young adults who are struggling with high housing costs," adding, "The county will actively utilize all available resources so that it can become a warm and stable home."
