The YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute (Gaseyeon) claimed that actor Kim Soo-hyun had been in a long-term relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron since her minor years. In response, Kim Soo-hyun's side has drawn a clear line, stating that these are false claims and expressed their intention to respond strongly.
On the 10th, the agency Gold Medalist released an official statement saying, "The claims made by Gaseyeon in their YouTube broadcast regarding actor Kim Soo-hyun are clearly false." They continued, "Gaseyeon alleged that our agency and actor Kim Soo-hyun colluded with YouTuber Lee Jin-ho to harass the late actress Kim Sae-ron, claimed that the late Kim Sae-ron dated Kim Soo-hyun from the age of 15, asserted that the agency's response to the late Kim Sae-ron's drunk driving accident was inappropriate, and also claimed that one of our managers is close with YouTuber Lee Jin-ho. These are malicious accusations against our agency and actor Kim Soo-hyun."
They added, "All of these are falsehoods that we absolutely cannot overlook," and stated, "Our agency is considering the strongest possible legal actions against Gaseyeon's dissemination of false information." Furthermore, they expressed, "We feel deeply sorrowful over the death of the late Kim Sae-ron, who was once part of our agency, and we mourn her passing. However, Gaseyeon's spreading of such falsehoods is a direct continuation of the so-called 'cyber reckers' behavior that the late struggled with during her lifetime, damaging not only our agency but also the deceased's honor for their own benefit," criticizing their actions. Finally, they said, "We will respond strictly to this matter," and earnestly requested, "Please refrain from further spreading, amplifying, or reproducing these baseless falsehoods."
Earlier that afternoon, Gaseyeon cited statements from the late Kim Sae-ron's bereaved family, claiming that she had been in a relationship with Kim Soo-hyun for six years starting from 2015 when she was a middle school student. The late actress was affiliated with the same agency as Kim Soo-hyun from 2020 until the end of 2022.
Meanwhile, the late actress effectively ceased her acting career after a drunk driving traffic accident in May 2022, and last year, news surfaced that she was working at a caf? due to financial difficulties. Subsequently, on the 16th of last month, it was reported that she was found dead at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul. Police investigations found no signs of external intrusion or any criminal suspicion.
