Gyeonggi Province will conduct a joint inspection of illegal advertisements around schools until the 19th to create a safe commuting environment for students as the new school term begins.
On the 11th, Gyeonggi Province announced that four areas?Anseong, Uiwang, Icheon, and Yangju?will carry out self-inspections along with joint inspections by Gyeonggi Province, while the remaining cities and counties will conduct self-inspections of illegal advertisements.
The main inspection items include ▲posters and banners around schools ▲illegal signboards ▲flyers and other illegal advertisements that may obstruct students' passage or compromise safety. Additionally, old and worn-out signs will be intensively inspected and maintained. Special focus will be placed on kindergartens, elementary, middle, and high schools located within child protection zones and educational environment protection zones.
Through this inspection, Gyeonggi Province plans to take necessary measures such as issuing warnings and imposing fines for illegal advertisements, and will continuously manage the area to prevent reinstallation of illegal advertisements after the inspection.
Park Jong-geun, Director of the Architectural Policy Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "It is important to organize the environment around schools so that students can commute safely as the new school term begins," adding, "We will do our best to create a pleasant and safe educational environment through this joint inspection."
