The Wooriai Happiness Care Center Modam Elementary and Middle School Branch is a care space established through cooperation between Gimpo City, the Office of Education, and Modam Elementary and Middle School, created with the purpose of alleviating the childcare burden of parents struggling with care blind spots.

Located within the school, it is expected to secure convenient routes for students and provide peace of mind for parents. The center plans to offer practical conversation classes with native speakers, as well as science and art lessons, which is anticipated to result in high satisfaction with the programs.

Since it is located in an area with high demand for care, it is expected to significantly reduce the childcare burden for dual-income parents in the district. The space can accommodate a total of 20 children, targeting elementary students aged 6 to 12 who require care, and is available both during school terms and vacations.

Kim Byung-su, Mayor of Gimpo City, stated, “Gimpo, a city ideal for raising children, is actively working to establish a care system that provides practical support to students and parents. We will do our best to provide high-quality care services from an early age with safety and distinctive programs.”

To date, Gimpo City has opened a total of 21 care centers, including the Wooriai Happiness Care Center Modam Elementary and Middle School Branch. In response to after-school childcare demand, the Gimpo Bandabi Branch is scheduled to open at the end of April this year, and a demand survey for an additional installation (one center) will be conducted in June.
