"Many Citizens Hold Overnight Protests"
Former Gyeongnam Governor Kim Kyung-soo, who began a hunger strike calling for the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol, shared the early morning scene of staying overnight with the 'Kisses' group protesting in Gwanghwamun on the 10th.
On the same day, Kim posted on social media (SNS), "Last night, I started a hunger strike protest in Gwanghwamun, and a night has passed," sharing his thoughts along with photos of the people he met at the site.
He introduced, "Around Gwanghwamun, quite a few citizens are also staying overnight in protest," adding, "They range from young friends to elders over seventy. Wrapped in a thin foil blanket, enduring the still cold night air, they are the guardians of democracy in the Republic of Korea, the 'Kisses' group."
Kim said, "This is the dawn scene of Gwanghwamun in Seoul changed by Yoon Suk-yeol's martial law," and added, "Spring in Gwanghwamun will come along with impeachment."
The day before, he began his hunger strike following the cancellation of President Yoon's detention. Kim stated, "The release of Yoon Suk-yeol is not simply an event of the release of the ringleader of the rebellion, Yoon Suk-yeol. The democracy of the Republic of Korea is being pushed to the brink of crisis," and declared, "I am starting a hunger strike protest demanding the dismissal of the ringleader of the rebellion, Yoon Suk-yeol."
