Resolving Issues Such as Long-Term Vehicle Parking
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 9th that it will convert some free parking lots to paid parking to resolve the indiscriminate parking issues at sports facilities and parks.
A city official explained, "We decided to implement paid parking because long-term vehicle parking or use for purposes other than intended at sports centers and parks has caused inconvenience to facility users."
The facilities subject to the paid conversion are the Yongin Citizen Sports Center and the attached parking lot at the park located in Pogok-eup, Cheoin-gu, and the attached parking lot at Yongin Central Park in Namdong, Cheoin-gu. The Yongin Citizen Sports Center and the park parking lots will operate as paid parking starting from the 24th, and the Yongin Central Park parking lot will be paid from April 14.
Parking is free for up to 30 minutes after entry, and a fee of 1,000 KRW will be charged for up to 4 hours thereafter. If parking exceeds 4 hours, an additional 300 KRW will be charged every 10 minutes, with a maximum daily fee of 6,000 KRW.
Paid operation hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and parking is free outside these hours. The Yongin Citizen Sports Center and Yongin Citizen Sports Park will operate paid parking during these hours regardless of weekdays, weekends, or holidays, while Yongin Central Park will be open free of charge to citizens on weekends and holidays.
Users of the Yongin Citizen Sports Center facilities can receive a parking fee discount after verification by the responsible staff.
